NVIDIA has finally released their final (non-beta) PureVideo HD drivers. For those that haven't been following their PureVideo HD technology, it allows for hardware acceleration of H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 HD movies... the formats used by Blu-ray and HD DVD.

I don't really need another burner- I'm happy with my LiteOn 165P6S and all the toys available for it. However, the new diagnostics that CD-Speed offers for drives with the Nexperia chipset (BenQ etc.) are rather enticing.

Unfortunately, precisely these drives seem to be dying out- so it's now or never. BenQ has left the European ODD market and their drives are pretty well gone from store shelves (other than the occasional 1670). But the ...

when i log in i click on the "View posts since last visit" link, keep that open and view the unread threas in other tabs, so i can keep track of which i haven't read yet (red color).

lately (since the last forum upgrade?) i keep getting this error:
"You cannot make another search so soon after your last; please try again in a short while."
this happens if i hit F5 too quickly in ...

Is DL media not able to be produced in greater quantities so as to bring down the prices to say $1 per disk even?

Was just checking out blankmedia.ca and they're around $2 per disk.

Or is the future of DL media in doubt due to the oncoming of HD-DVD and BluRay?

Did I go overboard with the pumpkins this year?

Some people do up the front lawn like a graveyard etc. Not me, yet.

I just carved 3 pumpkins and most of the smaller kids did not want to come to my door because of them.

Perhaps next year I'll do up the driveway/lawn like a homicide scene with real police caution tape from work, blood spatter up the garage door etc.
