I would like to know some of the ways used to remove stick-on labels from CD's. I have several old, but hardly used CD-RW discs that have stick-on labels that I'd like to reclaim for further use and/or give to friends.

I have a Maddog external 16x DVD burner (rebadged NEC3500) on a WinXP computer running the latest Nero 6.6.03.

I've been having issues when creating DVD videos using existing video files on my computer. I tried seperating the processes so I can tell if the issues occurs during the transcoding stage or the burning stage. I was able to transcode all the files and put them into an appropriate dvd video format and save it ...

i'm using recordnow7.3 wiith nec nd-6500a burner, all of which camw with my dell laptop.

i cannot do exact copy of video on dvd -r and dvd +rw disc media. It read the original dvd fine, and asks me to insert a blank dvd disc, it then tries to read the disc, and ejects it without any expalinations, and requesting again that a blank disc be inserted

appreciate any info on what to do to ...

I posted recently about trying to shut off short lead-out and not being able to. I investigated further after removing and re-installing Nero which did ultimate fix the problem. Anyway, I was able to reproduce it by unchecking "high compatibility mode (at least 1 gig written)" for a given burner. If you do that then Nero 6.6.0.3 will start writing short lead-outs even though you have the generate short lead-out box unchecked in the preferences. ...

I've been looking around at Dual Layer drives and it seems none of them support Mt. Rainer. Not that it's a big deal at this point, but it's supposed to be supported in Longhorn next year right?

ive also been lookin for any kind of firmware or mod that might be available to turn this drive into a 12x or faster. im prolly reachin but any info mucho appreciated.

whats the best software to use for some drag and drop data bakups just for storage that supports single layer and dl. i just got a liteon dl 832s, ive read many posts and cannot make a decision. i already have a good dvd bakup program but am confused as to which prog would be best for basic data bakup and maybe a system restore or 2.
