News of Sonic Solutions and Roxio

When I try to burn a CD it says no suitable drive, and it says no recorder present. I tried updating the PX Engine and the Firmware but that failed to resolve the issue. I also uninstalled and reinstalled recordnow and that didnt fix it either. Can somebody help me!!!!!!!!!

I have a new PC wth My DVD which when I click on it appears as Digital Media Plus ver7 . my question is how do I format a CD using this program . I looked at the Help files said go to Direct to Disc and click on Format . Nowhere does it say format it has DVD and VCD also Upgrade. another question it has "muvee autoproducer" I made 3 slide shows now ...

Okay, so they both now support DVD DL writing -- 1 all so far.
But Roxio have dropped the buffer monitor in Creator Classic -- a big minus in my book -- so 2-1 to nero. Also, Roxio have crippled the bootable CD creation feature which was fully configurable in Easy CD Creator 6 -- you can no longer choose which type of emulation you want -- it's floppy emulation only. Is there a way to set a default Disc Size in Creator Classic? I always use DVD 4.7GB, and I find it inconvenient that CC defaults to CD 700 MB for Disc Size.

If I forget to switch the Disc Size, CC burns just 700MB of a 4.7GB DVD! That's a coaster.

We have Sonic DLA that came with a Thinkpad X40 - but it works intermittently. We have placed several calls to IBM to no avail. They don't even support it. Yet they stick it on the machine as a freebie utility.

We have since found out - thru long series of investigations
Veritas DLA became Sonic DLA. IBM rewraps or just renames it as IBM DLA.

The problem is that the DLA will work for ...

(How to check DLA version? May-be through the *tfswctrl.exe* file? which is ver 3.50.14)
