NTFS FAT32 Large files problem

Postby CignaXI on Tue Jun 24, 2003 4:05 am

Ok, recently I wanted to watch a SVCD movie on my PC. When I inserted the cd nothing happened and none of the players could play the movie. I tried with other cd's with the same result. So I tried to copy the movie file from the cd to my HD and got an error saying invalid msdos file. I have 2 HD's, a 120SE and a 20GB both are western digital. The 120GB is partitioned with a NTFS which is running the WinXP Pro and the other is a FAT32. The 20GB is formatted FAT32. I also tried to convert a movie to recompress it and when I tried to save the file uncompressed I also couldn't, so I'm guessing the OS is having a problem with large files. Is this cause due to the mixing of different file systems? Any suggestion to solve this problem is gratefully accepted.

PS: I later installed WinME on the 20GB and was able to copy the movie file to the HD. Still without luck in WinXP Pro.
Still burning with my LTR-16101B.
