Wow, Pioneer adds 8x and 12x-writing for 16x-media ;)

However, I had 8x-Pioneer´s and they was real fast with 8x-writing (DVD-R under 8 minutes), the quality was also fine.

I hope Pioneer will do further improvements, maybe I will buy soon a new writer, because my Benq 1640 and LiteOn 1653S are not enough

Ok... this is weird:

adds support for 8X writing speed on 16X +R media from CMC Magnetics Corp.;

with 1.17 it already wrote CMCMAGM01 at 8x, with good quality :o

12X writing speed on 16X +R media from Moser Baer India Ltd. / Prodisc Technology Inc. / Philips Electronics;

I don't know about the MBIL or the Prodisc 16x DVD+R yet, but I know it burned PHILIPSC16 at 12x with 1.17 already!!

16X writing speed on 16X +R media from DAXON and Verbatim (Mitsubishi Chemical)

I haven't tried Daxon yet, but MCC004 media already burned at 16x with 1.17

So what the heck changed REALLY?!?! :o

Maybe it now also supports CMCMAGM02 ??

The other stuff I don't know. It might be Pioneers different devisions releasing different firmwares which means that 1.17 might not have been available on the site of were this one was released. I have seen this a few times but then again I'm probally wrong.
