Lite-On combo drives.

SOHC-5232K, SOHC-5235K, SOHC-5236K
all of them are more or less the same drive (35, 36 are slightly newer versions).

be careful with litey combo drives, if you plan on using it for ripping think again

ive gone through... lets see... 3 combo liteys so far, all of em didn't last more then 2 months

so this time i just went with the nec 3520 for my combo drive

only $14 more then the litey combo drives now

I have an LG combo drive and never had any trouble from it. Its an older model and LG didn't give much firmware support, but the latest combo drive has had many updates. And it has Mount R. support, I never used it though.

I bought the Sony CRX320A combo drive, it works well and has a good brand name. It is an off-white color and fairly quiet. A bit slow in recognizing discs some times but maybe all drives have that problem.

52x CD-R (read and write)
32x CD-RW (ultra-speed plus writing logo)
16x DVD-ROM

Supports Mt. Rainier

You can buy 24x CD-RW discs now so burning and formatting CD-RW is much faster with this drive.

It's a Lite-On 5232K rebadge.
