Plextor PX-504UF interface question PLEASE HELP

Hello,
This is going to sound like a dumb question, so I apologize. =) I am thinking about getting the external Plextor PX-504UF burner, as I found it for $119 with a $50 rebate. However, I am a bit confused about the mimumum system requirements. I only need to burn DVD to DVD...will not be connecting any other equipment like camcoders, etc. The min. interface requirements said "Dual IEEE 1394 and Hispeed USB". My computer has a USB 2.0 but no Firewire (and I use Windows XP). If I get this burner, will I at least be able to burn DVD to DVD? I thought the Firewire is only needed if I was going to be burning from other sources, but thought I would ask some more knowledgable people before I purchase anything. Just wasn't sure if I had to have both.
I want to get an external drive, 4x speed is a-ok, and this was the cheapest and best reveiwed burner I could find..but just wasn't sure about the interface requirements. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! =)

for external burners its either usb or firewire not both

any features available in firewire mode is also available in usb mode

so dvd to dvd is available in usb mode too
