I bought this drive on the 26th of this month and I have been very pleased with it, but one major thing that bugs be about it is that it only reads DVD-Video files at 2x CLV. I checked my manuals and online resourses and its true it does do that from the factory, Plextors manual says that it does that to avoid noise and vibartion. Does anyone know how to get around this? I use DVD Shrink and it takes forever to rip video to the hard drive. I started using my DVD-Rom Lite-On 163D and it works fine... rips at around 6x which is fine by me. Does anyone know of a DVD-Rom/CD-RW Combo drive that would rip any faster?
DUDE!!! I tried that and it worked peepz... Im ripping @ 8x now which is super fast... takes about 12min's for a copy . I put it on fast and noisey but its not at all noisey just Friggen FAST! Thanks again guys... No need to use my DVD-ROM anymore it is too slow!
