Imation "Business Select" CD-R's

Postby shstrang on Sun Feb 15, 2004 2:17 pm

Hi there. I'm new here and already have a question.

Does anyone here know who makes the above mentioned Imation CD-R's?

Were they any good?

thanks

In my expirience, Imation CD-R's have always been CMC Magnetics. I have never had a good Imation CD-R, and would stay away from them at all costs.

I've always had good luck with Imation's discs... CMC or otherwise. As long as you're not going to use them as long term backups, they're good discs for the money.

Just keep in mind that Imation and Moser Baer are now working together. If the discs say "Made in India", they're not CMC.

Imation CD-R's, gotta agree. i have had gd luck with these. but lately. i noticed they are very vunerable to scratches. (i know so are all cd's, but, i dunno, these seem quite more so).

Personnaly. go for the Datasafe Silver Premium (52x) Branded 80 minute CDR. the best cdr's i have used. very very gd

MBI discs have worked fine for me, especially the 52X Pro discs. Maybe they keep the best discs for the home market :D

Well the Imations are quite good if you use Lite On burners.I can say that my LiteON burners(both 42246s and 42327s) work very well with Imations made by CMC.By the way have you guys tried the Imation Professional grade scratch resistant cdrs by CMC(lifetime warranty)?
In my part of the world where I lived in I have never seen MBI disc b4?FYI I am from the far east asia region.

Centrilium,hi. You could check out Verbatim DataLife CD-R discs, labelled "Made In India". They are made by Moser Baer in India with Mitsubishi stampers and ATIP codes. They are pretty good discs.
