Tdk Aid+880 8x Dvd Burner for $149 after rebate

I have no idea if these two companies are good to buy from or not. I'm just posting the deal I found. Please do research before you buy from a company. To do research on a company go to

www.resellerratings.com
www.pricegrabber.com click merchant ratings link at almost the top of the page

Ecost has the Tdk Aid+880 8x Dvd Burner for $169 plus a $20 mail in rebate.

$169 - $20 mail in rebate = $149

It says free ground shipping too.

Compuplus also has it for $168 - $20 mail in rebate= $148.

Type in tdk 880 in the search box to get the link to the drive.

You have to pay shipping. They may be a better company. I'm not sure.

This drive is a rebadged NEC-2500a. I have heard a lot of good things about the NEC-2500a from other users.

Yes, the TDK is an NEC.

The drive at Newegg is an OEM. Keep in mind that if you run into trouble, you get no support or warranty from NEC.

Also, I think you get more software with the Tdk drive. I know the oem version has software, but Best Buy says this has a Roxio bundle with it.

Ian,

Does the Tdk drive have more software than the Oem Nec drive?

Best Buy lists the software here. I don't think all of that software listed at Best Buy's site is included with the oem Nec drive, but I'm not sure.

I'm not really sure what's on the Roxio CD that comes with the OEM NEC. Anyone know?
