The Liteon LTD-166s is fast at ripping DVDS and music CDs to MP3 files.

I would recommend this drive.

I have the Plextor, which is a re-badged Pioneer 120 and I can assure you it is the best out of the 3. Not sure about the Asus, but I wouldn't expect much from them in the optical drive field. As for the LTD-166S, it has terrible build quality, but it is very fast. I'd go for the Plextor (Pioneer) as it has top of the line read performance, and it has top of the line build quality.
