I have the reference Sony DVP-S7000 player. If I can get backups of DVD movies to work on this machine, then dvd should work almost anywhere. DVD-/+ Rs made from Sony 510 dont work on this machine. Will bitsetting disc work on this machine? :D

Yeah, bitsetting should help.. be aware though, that bitsetting only works on DVD+R discs.

Hi,

I've got a Pioneer A07 (107), and have burned a DVD Backup on DVD-R and DVD+R media. Firmware was 1.05, burns were at 2x/2.4x

the +R media worked in my Sony 7000. The Media was Ricoh JPNR01 (fuji & memorex).

the -R media didn't work in my sony 7000. This media was RitekG04 (ritek) and TYG01 (Fuji).

Interestingly the -R media was read by more of the DVD-ROM readers that I have than the +R media.

My next test, I want to take these 4 dvd's to a best buy/good guys and just try them in a bunch of players.

ah, I knew I left something out :)

I used DVD Shrink to make a backup of the "Mtv Unplugged: Ballads" DVD. I burned using Nero v 6.3.0.3.

I have DVDXCOPY 4.0.3.8 and NERO 6 Ultra Edition:

DVD Writer: Pioneer DVR-A07XLA (cannot Bit Set or change disc to DVDROM)
Sony DRU-110A (Ricoh MP5120A)(when flashed to Ricoh MP5120A it states it can Bit Set but errors out when applying Bit Set however disc does indicate in DVDInfo as being change to DVDROM---
I think firmware problem)

DVD Player: Sony DVP-S7000

MEDIA Used: Sony and Memorex blank DVD

I have burned with DVD+R and DVD+RW and cannot get a Disc to play in
my Sony DVP-S7000.
The Software I have used is: DVDXCOPY 4.0.3.8 and NERO 6 Ultra Edition
I have also change the Disc to DVDROM but same results.

Can you please help with full detail?

Thanks
