Yes, those are real.

No one that would buy a CZ-52, makarov, or a star would buy a replica.

That is an eclectic collection. But why jennings, davis, or hi-point? Hi-points work, but man...awful triggers and ugly as sin. Except for those three (and of course the desert eagle, which I am inherently against), those are all really nice and interesting pieces.

Such a wide variety in caliber though:

.50 AE
.45 ACP
9x19
9x18
9x17 (.380
7.62 (.30 cal?)
.22

What do you keep on hand? And no revolvers?!?!?! How can a man not have a revolver? I'm afraid I can't be your friend until you have a revolver.

Here's a partial of mine.

Image

The S&W 637 (2nd column, 2nd from top) has been replaced by a Taurus 905 with bobbed hammer. Added to this is the Dan Wesson 1911, Kel-tec P32, and the first firearm I ever owned an S&W Sigma .380 which is the biggest piece of crap ever.

Left column from top to bottom: Glock 19 9x19 with Trijicon night sights, Taurus Tracker in .22 magnum, Ruger Vaquero .22 single action color cased blue with factory faux ivory grip (semi-rare), Taurus .22LR.

Right colum from top to bottom: Bersa Thunder .380, no longer present S&W 637, Smith & Wesson 686 4" .357/.38, Ruger GP-100 4" .357/.38 with adjustable Meprolight night sights.

Nice guns man :D I have such a wide varity of calipers for a couple reasons. I am 23 for one and have only been able to buy pistols for 2 years.I put a deposit down on a S&W 500 a few weeks back just havent had the spare $600 for it yet although I have shot one.Impressive. All the guns that I listed are stored at home except the HiPoint which is kept on my cycle or under car seat depending on which I am in(I love the Hipoint to death BTW I can nail bullseye at 75 ft with it)and the Colt which is my baby and thats what I carry everywhere I go. I bought the Jennings 22 just because 22 ammo is soooo cheap just for sitting on the back porch plinking pop cans.I also like the so called junk guns because everyone seems to be scared to buy them so I pick them up dirt cheap and with a little smithing(best friend is a gunsmith) from him and me they are very reliable.I got the Davis for $40 if I remember right and the J22 for less than that.Sometimes I do leave the Colt at home and them I throw one of the smaller ones in my pants pocket. I have a concealed carry shoulder holster for my DE. I can actually conceal considering how large I am.(6'5 almost 400lbs)I love old military surplus weapons alot and thats another reason the caliper is so varied. I like to have guns that have history behind them. Makes me feel good knowing I am shooting a weapon thats served through war like my Colt as its stamped US Property still on it.I called Colt and all they would say is the serial is from 1927.I know these pieces have served time in use for a very long time and it makes me feel proud to own and shoot it. I want to get another CZ52 as that gun is alot of fun.Hotter than a 357mag but not quite a 44mag.I shot it on a chrony and it was doing 1800 fps with Czech surplus ammo.Goes through steel easily. Shooting old rusted out mail boxes or an old car is quite fun to see the bullet go in one side and out the other. I dont get to shoot the DE as much as I would like though as its damned expensive. I bought the dies to reload at my buddies house but I havent collected a big enough brass pile to be worth while to go over there and setup his reloader for a little bit then he has to change it all back out.We loaded up some real hot loads when I first got the dies just so he could show me how reloading works and we used 33.5 grains of H110 powder.Amazing flame show :) I hunt deer with a red dot scope on the DE.Here in Indiana you cant hunt with a rifle only shotguns and pistols.I have nothing against revolvers.Like I said I am getting a S&W 500.I just prefer semi automatics.I plan on getting a Browning Hipower if I can find one that is really old that I like as John Moses Browning is a genious and hero in my eyes. I love the 1911 design. Thats what sold me on semi-autos. I have been looking at the EAA Witness 10mms too. I dont like the glock 20. Uncomfortable to shoot. It makes the palm of my hand hurt where the base digs in.My hands are too big.I wear shooting gloves as I have to to avoid beeing skinned due to my XXXL hands.10 mm is an impressive caliper if you ask me.Expensive to shoot the real hot loads like doublettap ammo. The Star super B is also nice since its a 9x19 I can get the 100 rd winchester value packs at wal-mart for 10 bux.The Hipoint was my first gun purchase. I bought it on my 21st birthday. That gun has given me the least problems of all of them. It is dead accurate too. I agree the trigger is not the nicest even after we took 2500 grit paper to all the surfaces. It is ugly too. It sat outside all winter in my cycles fairing getting coverd with snow and no rust anywhere and she still shoots great.I love it. Nothing better than when I am out shooting with friends and his Kimber jams up and he blames the ammo so he lets me try to shoot it.Not a one FTF.My Colt acts up more than the Hipoint.
Whew :)

to JamieW is that Taurus 22 the PT-22 by chance? Those guns are different in the way they have to have one loaded in the popup barrel before you can shoot them. What do you think of the Dan Wesson 1911 you have pretty good gun for the money? I have a 400 corbon barrel conversion kit for my 1911 but I havent dropped it in yet because I dont know how well that old of a 1911 can take the stress. They are spot head treated instead of the whole thing. I will probably give her ago though after I finish putting in the Wilson Combat parts that I bought for it. New higher power springs,1 pc guide rod(I know they arent worth the money but I figured might as well when I was ordering) and the Shok-Buffers.

No, the Taurus .22 is a revolver, not the semi-auto. Don't remember the model number. I really like my DW. Had some issues in finish early on. Dan Wesson was using crappy beaver tails and main spring housings. They have upgraded those after I bought mine, but I replaced mine anyway. I don't know where they currently stand on guide rods. Mine came with a two piece guide rod which I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the advantage was. I have both the GI guide rod and a full length guide rod. Haven't figured out which one I like more. But the rest of the gun is really top notch. Very good deal in the 1911 world, imo.

Claybuster,

I recognize the 1911s. Who are the manufacturers? Also recognize the Kahr. But what is that compact DA semi auto?

The Upper two on the left and The Black 1911 are all Para-Ordnance P-14's the Top Right is a Kimber Custom Classic which unlike you friends has NEVER jammed I can feed that thing empty cases and it'll chamber them. The Kahr is a MK9. I also have a ruger MKII Slabside, G19 G17 G30 a P220 P229 and my everyday carry is either the G30 or my P232. A bunch of AR's fill the safes along with a couple O/U and semi 12's

The one on the bottom left is an Astra A100 18rd. 9mm

With the O/Us, semi 12s, and the name, I'm suspecting you do a good deal of trap and skeet shooting. I've started going every weekeend since mid march after starting it up last year. After using every 12g I can get my hands on, I've decided to buy a Browning Gold Hunter 28" as soon as I find a good deal on one. Hoping both Galyans and Dick's get one in. Then I will have Galyan's price match to Dick's and go 15% under bringing me around the $600 mark.

MP5s are running around $15,000 and M4/M16s are running around $16,000. Better get it now. Prices will continue to increase since the '89 import and production ban on full auto for civvy use isn't going away.

JamieW,

I generally shoot Sporting Clays but I do on occasion shoot a few rounds of trap and or skeet to warm up. For you though I would seriously consider a 30” barreled Auto especially when shooting trap. I used a 30” Beretta AL391 auto for a long time shooting skeet, trap and sporting clays and it is the perfect size although I have since moved to a 32” Krieghoff K-80. The Browning is a good gun though and you should really enjoy it. I will add though if you don’t intend on using it for hunting and don’t need the 3” chamber to think about one of the sporting models they offer as they are more reliable with the lighter target loads.

The full length guide rods are supposed to keep the spring from binding or twisting for a smoother action and longer spring life. Most 1911 authorities agree that the standard GI length one is plenty adequate. The 2 piece is easier to remove than the 1 piece.
