USB 1.1 vd firewire

for a dvd writer say LG 4082 on an external enclosure attached to a notebook

for a 4 Gb video file writing on the DVD writer

1) how much more is USB 1.1 more prone to error /stability issues as compared to USb 2.0 or firewire

2) wouls you say that USB 1.1 is just aabout 10x slower than USB2.0 and fire wire when writing a 4 Gb file .

3) Is firewire the most stable in terms of least errors as compared to USB 1.1 and USB 2.0. I would think that firewire is more stable than USB2.0

4) is a pentium 3 machine 1.2 GHZ with 256 Mb PC 133 Ram pose any writing or any probelems in writing a 5gb file on a DVD

First off.. do not even bother using USB 1.1 with a DVD writer. USB 1.1 is too slow, even if you'd write at 1x.

Second, I'm not sure where you're getting these figures about errors. In my experiences, both USB 2.0 and FireWire are rock solid when it comes to writing CD's and DVD's. If you're concerned about getting a solution that works, buy an external drive from a company like Sony, Memorex or Plextor. That way you'll know the external case/drive combination has been tested and works well.

Thirdly, those specs should be fine. However, you're probably not going to be able to multitask while burning.

Lastly, keep all your questions in one thread. You have about 5 topics going right now, asking various questions about USB, FireWire and external drives. You'll get better answers that way.
