Making DVD from .VOB files

Postby bimbla on Thu Apr 15, 2004 9:55 pm

How to burn a DVD to be accessible on DVD Players from .VOB files only? I am referring to Dolby Digital trailors available on cinenow.com

The burner asks for .ifo files

hoxlund is correct you need IFO files to be compliant.
You can use DVDLab or TMPGEnc DVD Author to make menus.IFOEDIT will not make menus but it's free.

DVD without .ifo files

Postby bimbla on Fri Apr 16, 2004 4:17 pm

What is my other best option?

These are Dolby Digital Trailors. I want to retain 5.1Ch audio with as good video as possible and it be playable on any DVD Player.

you've exhausted my knowledge, as far as i know you have to have .ifo files or the .vobs are useless

Most of the new DVD mastering software suites support VOB files. While I'm not sure about the Dolby 5.1 sound, you should be able to import the VOB files and create your own DVD.
