The other thing to remember is that there is no discernable performance difference with a 8X card @ 4X and a 8X card @ 8X. It's primarily a marketing gimmick.

Think that applies to a game like FarCry? I doubt it, having 8x agp in that case would deffently help out

No, it won't. FarCry can't saturate the 1.064 GBPs bandwidth of AGP4X, let alone the 2.128 GBPs bandwidth of AGP 8X.

MaximumPC did a test on a 8x card on a single mobo adjusting b/w 4x and 8x.

Almost no difference. But that test was several months ago.

What makes Far Cry better is a faster CPU, probably more RAM too. I believe what they say that there is no major difference between 4X and 8X.

there recommended memory is 1gb, all i have to say about this game is its gorgous (however you spell it)

its main reason i bought 256mb video card, along with 3.0ghz cpu

btw, for those intrested intel changed there purchase program

you now have to earn points (7000) to be able to buy the next bundle, course i think its gonna be worth it, look at whats coming out around that time for technology

hehe, anyone wanna buy a Asus P4C800-E Deluxe mobo + 3.0Ghz cpu? ;)

Nahh.. don't trust 3DMark2001. It's more of a whole system benchmark. Just up your FSB by 20-30Mhz, you may get a 200-300 point increase. So, your crazy-fast P4 3Ghz will KILL my system, even though I have a 9800Pro.. it's just a lonely, slow 2.2Ghz AXP.

Oh, and how come you don't overclock? Nice mobo, awesome CPU+RAM, why the heck not?
