I just got done reading the review over there and I must say I am impressed with the drive. I didnt actually buy mine with the intention of burning dvds.I bought it strictly for kprobe but it looks like I will actually use it for burning Not gonna replace the pioneers though

The funny thing is I got it for the same reason just to KProbe my Pioneer A07 burns. Then I started reading about it and tried the speedhack the drive is actually pretty nice and I can make two copies at 8x at once I wasn't sure if it would work writting to two different drives at once but it works fine here.

i did not buy 812s because 107d produced far better kprobe scan than 812s on 1x -r princo disks. however, 812s seems better with +r & 107d seems better with -r;

for 812s, someone claimed that cmc r01(2.4x +r) can burn @ 8x while producing very very good result.

my 107d was working fine, but now it does not making good quality anymore with 1x -r princo @6x though nero verified successfully; not sure this is a disk quality variation or a hardware failure of 107d;

for 812s, there is a speedhack utility that let you choose writing speed for any disks.
