How do you make mp3 cd from a data cd

your question isn't clear.

an mp3 CD is a data CD, whose contents are mp3 files.

what software are you using?
you should select the option for data CD, not autio CD. then add the mp3 files you want.

I am too old to understand all this.
I had a bunch of mp3,made a data cd and deleted all from my pc.
now i would like to make a mp3 cd on a easy creator.so i can play them in the car or other

OK. things are clearer now.

you need to copy the mp3 files from the data CD to which you burned them back to the hard drive of your computer.

now, start up your Easy CD Creator and start making an Audio CD. dragNdrop the mp3s to the application window, it will add them to the CD compilation you're making, and it should automatically convert them from mp3 format to cda format - cda format is CD Audio, that what can be played on HiFi sets and car audio systems.

I'm still confused what you are trying to accomplish. :-?
As dodecahedron said the Data CD can be played in a MP3 capable player as long as you burned:DAO(closed),ISO9660,mode 1.Also make sure the MP3's are CBR,some players have a problem with VBR.
