E-Mail vs Instant Messages

Postby MonteLDS on Sun May 16, 2004 10:06 pm

Does anyone here ever use that anymore for non-bussiness reasons?

Ever since the IM, and unlimited internet use I have found e-mail to have less value except for in bussiness.

I never email any of my friends I just wait till they come online. Maybe I just never have anything important to say....

Here I go rambling on about a topic that has little impact on most of our lives.

Not al of my friends use ICQ or other chat systems, but most of them and I are in a email list (yahoogroups).

I use ICQ, MSN Messenger and iChat (AOL) systems to talk to 2 or 3 people on a daily basis, one of them is my spouse.

I still e-mail my friends from time to time, especially when I don't see them on AIM.

If they aren't online, or don't use an IM program, I email them.

Talking about coincidences, me too, I send her some SMSs when I can't connect, like in traffic or bad GPRS signal.

Do you know new phones had emoticons too?

Yeah, my scanner is not good enough, I bet Cfitz can make the image look better.

We discovered eventually, she send me :-X in a message like in ICQ and my phone displayed the kiss emoticon, then later she found more emoticons directly with the insert symbol option, but they are characters actually. :D

I think Nokia phones dont have emoticons built in them, not yet.Nokia may come up soon with models having the same though.

Nice! I've just started using MMS on my Nokia 3530, no emoticons yet, though. I'm going to download YahooMessenger for my phone, let's see if it works.
