My New Toy

Postby BuddhaTB on Sat May 15, 2004 2:41 pm

Unfortunately, my 17" Viewsonic CRT monitor broke a few weeks back and have been stuck since with an old 15" monitor. It sucked that my monitor broke 5 months after the 3 year warranty period was over. I've been looking for an LCD screen awhile now, so I knew which LCD screen I wanted, just needed to look for a sale. Good thing my tax refund will help pay for most of my LCD screen since it was close to $850.

I got myself a Dell Ultrasharp 2001FP 20.1" LCD screen. This thing is amazing and HUGE!! I've included a size 11 sneaker to help show how big this screen really is. I have it running on DVI at 1600x1200 resolution and when I played CS and UT2K4 on it, it was like WOW. :o Didn't notice any ghosting and best of all, my LCD screen arrived with NO dead pixels. Tech specs can be read here and yes this LCD planel has a response time of 16ms. :D

This LCD screen is worth every penny I paid since I'll be looking at it daily. Enjoy the pics. :D

Looks good. I'm holding out a bit longer for monitors with slightly faster response times. I play a lot of FPS' and while 16ms is good, there still is some ghosting occasionally.

man i want a LCD screen, but they just still are too much! I am on a 19" Sony Trinitron CRT, so i can't get a smaller screen. and it has to run at 1600x1200
So far the best i could find is SAMSUNG 213T-Black 21" LCD Monitor
but it is $1229 at newegg! And their no way by having that screen that I would make any money back. So buying it would be silly. must wait till it is 1/2 price

Yes Hox, I think that they are the new BoobTube Full L-C36-D widescreen. But I hear they come with two burned pixels right smack in the middle of the screen. But, I can live with that.
