Writing SVCD/VCD to DVDR

Hi,
Just picked up a LG-4082B
Just wanted to know if it's possible to have a SVCD/VCD format on a DVDR and make it so that it will play on a standalone DVD player.
Will the DVD player recognize it as DVD with SVCD video or can I make it as a big big CDR in SVCD format??

Use DVD2SCVD - it can convert to/from DVD, AVI, (S)VCD.

I know how to convert a DVD to SVCD, but is it possible to put, say, 2 or more SVCD's onto a DVD and then play it on a standalone DVD player??
Like basically have a 4.3 gig disc that has SVCD's on it??

If you want to merge discs, you'll actually have to use a DVD authoring package. NeroVision Express can do this, if you have Nero, but takes forever (it has to reencode each file even it is alread in DVD format).

To answer your question no,the audio must be converted to 48khz and the video has to be in .VOB format(VCD/SVCD is .DAT).A DVD that has .DAT files will only play on a PC.
The best way is to reauthor using TMPGEnc DVD Author,Ulead VideoStudio,etc.

That's not the whole story, though.

You are right that the audio must be in 48khz (which is a not very time-consuming recoding process), but you actually CAN use the existing SVCD video for a DVD without recoding.
This is outside the exact DVD restrictions, of course, but works on players that support SVCD playback. Nero does not support this, but some other Programs like DVD-Lab and SVCD2DVD do.
