Mad Dog MegaStor 6-in-1 Dual Layer 8x DVD+/-RW Drive?

Postby Rudy on Sun Jun 13, 2004 9:44 am

Can someone tell me who is the manufacturer of the

MAd Dog MegaStor 6-in-1 Dual Layer 8x Internal IDE DVD+/-RW Drive

on sale at Compusa?

Will this drive burn 4X DVD+R media at 8X?

rumor has it that it's an NEC, which you can get for the same price, with no MIR, at NewEgg.com

Yep, and you won't have to deal with Mad Dog rebates, which have a poor reputation as it is.

Oh, and yes, it will burn *some* 4x media at 8x, including Taiyo Yuden media.

With Herrie's beta firmware, you can burn most 4x media (DVD-R and DVD+R) at 8x.
