Do you have any of those right now?Use some tool like Nero InfoTool or SmartBurn to check the manufacturer of the disc.
Also if you are getting the discs dirt cheap then probably the discs are crap.

Yes....the manufaturer's change for every batch of discs.I had bought some Samsung CD-R's some days before. They were from CMC.Couple of days before when I bought the Samsung discs in jewel packs, the manufacturer was Prodisc.
So,if the manufacturer is reputed, then the discs would be good.

The GQ's I bought a while ago were made by Lead Data. By the way, GQ stands for Great Quality. Are the discs great quality? Not exactly, but they aren't terrible either, in my estimation. My only complaint: some of the lacquer on the hub of the discs peeled off, but it was only on the hub, no other place. I have had these discs for about two years, and so far, none of them have C2 errors.

If the discs last for 2 without C2 errors then the discs are definitely good.I have a couple of HP CD-R's(Ritek) burnt couple of years before and stored in the jewel case that they came in,but now no reader is able to read them. The surface is clean as mirror and no scratches over the disc.I dont know whats wrong with them. For now I like Sony.
