average of 32x rip speed but decent burn quality, i would say better than a BENQ cd burner but no where as good as LITEON but for 20.00 and no rebate, i would buy it if i had a FRY's in my area
NEC 2500A $20 10/04
NEC 3500AG for $47 4/05
NEC 3540 for $35 9/05
BENQ 1620 for $36 9//05

Wow....thats cheap. It accounts to only about Rs.920 here in India. The cheapest burner that I can get in my city is the LG,for about Rs.1825.

What came in the retail pack?

Hello!

A friend have the BTC 5232IA (with built-in-cardreader). He said that the writing quality of this writer is bad, only few brands will be burned good, the most have many errors.

The CD-RW-burn-quality was also not good, no chnace against LG or Optorite-drives

Further there exist no FW-update for that writer
Benq DW 1640 and 1650 , Plextor PX-755, Pioneer BDR-208 and 209D, LG GH24NSC0, LG BH16NS40 and 16NS55, Liteon ihas 124F and 324F, Pioneer DVR-215 and S21, Samsung SH-224DB and 224GB, and some more
