Air China Flight 'Hijacked'

Postby aviationwiz on Mon Jul 26, 2004 7:02 pm

As the topic says, today, the 26th of July, Air China flight 1343 (Ident CA1343) was hijacked today.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737, was diverted to Zhengzhou, from it's scheduled route of Beijing to Hunan. A passenger threatened to pour sulpheric acid on the passengers if the flight were not diverted to China.

A spokesman from the CAAC said "It is not that serious, we even cannot define it as a 'hijacking'"

What's up with this Wiz? How come I didn't see this on the news? Or with all the media focused on the events in Boston, this fell through the crack?
