How to get a FREE Ipod or Ipod Mini! NOT A SCAM!

What was that?

How to get a FREE Ipod or Ipod Mini! NOT A SCAM!

Postby gigabyte on Sat Aug 07, 2004 10:09 pm

Alright people, I ask you to hear me out completely:

There is a way to get a free iPod (new 20 gb model), iPod Mini, or a $250 gift certificate for iTunes. If we all work together, many of us can get these easily. Here's how:

http://www.freeipods.com is offering one of these, your choice, if you sign up, complete an offer, and get 5 other people to do the same as well. Now I'm sure by now that many of you already think that this is a huge scam, but please please continue to read on.

Many websites are doing this, and if we started doing it as well, i bet we could make the whole process a lot faster. Here are the rules taken from another website:

OFFER DETAILS:
Okay, so there may be a way to get a Free iPod Mini - a 4GB iPod. I'm not sure the legitimacy of this(**IT DOES WORK**), but I'd like to give it a chance - I'll need 5 people's help & each of those 5 people will need 5 other people's help to get this.

If I refer 5 people who participate in the offer, then I get a free iPod. Then if those 5 people get 5 people each to participate in an offer, they each get a free iPod & so on...the offers range from anything to joining Ancestry.com to getting the Hilton HHonors Amex with No Annual fee. The best one, IMHO, is the Ancestry.com because your credits get credited immediately & you can do a free 2 week cancel-able membership there (although a CC is required & you'd have to remember to cancel it on your own).

Basically, this is how it functions.
~ Use the first link on this post as a referral to sign up at freeipod.com
~ Post your link, along with the name of the person whose link you used, to this thread.
~ I will add your name and link at the bottom and soon enough, it will be your turn.

That's it. Simple!

Rules:
~ PLEASE use the first name on the list as referral and sign up
~ Please do NOT PM me with a request to add you to the line.
~ You MUST post the name you used as referral along with your own link to be included in the line
~ You MUST NOT start a new thread or else it WILL be closed and you will be declared persona non-grata on this thread. Earlier mistakes were genuine mistakes and are excused.
~ After you get 5 people to sign up using your referral (not 5 who complete the offer), please post here so the line can move on.

Once someone has 5 completed offers from referrals (in other words, qualified for iPod), please post the names of the people who used your link - it is a simple recognition of the fact and maintains the fellowship of the community

The only way this can effectively work is if everyone who is interested in this offer, legitimately does it in order. Once 5 people have posted that they have completed it - Person 1, P2, P3, P4, P5 - the next 5 persons interested should use P1 & then the next 5 use P2 and so on - I realize that this requires an exponential increase for people to get their free iPods, but at the same time, I think it'll work out if some people use their friends & family members

So basically, you use my link and then your name gets added to the bottom of the line. As soon as I get my five, we work on the next person. Now I know that all of you are thinking "Sheesh, its just a lousy pyramid scheme so that gigabyte can get all of his referrals" but this is not true. This really does work and yes, there is proof!

Many people who have infact recieved their iPods have made websites describing every step of the way. They even have photo's, scans of the tracking number they recieved when ordering their iPod, and a whole bunch more! Here's an example:

http://www.freeipodguide.com/?ops=pics

As you can see, there are pictures of the website saying that all 5 referrals were claimed, pictures of the delivery truck, and the iPod. Here's another site:

http://geocities.com/ghettopia/freeipod.htm

Not only are there many people who have actually recieved this, but there are also many websites that teach you some ways to do this easier.

This is NOT a scam, it actually does work, and what have you got to lose? By the way, this is ONLY IN THE UNITED STATES, sorry people in Canada and other countries. If you are willing to give this a shot, here's my link:

http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7815821

So once again, the basic rules are: Complete an offer under my link, then your name gets posted in line. As soon as i get all my offers, then people who are joining join under your link.

Please consider this, and if you have any questions, please post them here.

Thank You Everybody

It never mentions that your signing up under someone, as people tend to make a link show http://www.freeipods.com but really have it go to thier referal link.

I've read about this prior to this thread, and it seems like some people think it's illegal, and some don't. Some sites will delete thread's like this just to not take a chance with legality, while some, like cdrlabs, leave them up.

as a former AOL employee I can say AOL anything is a scam. I used to do customer support for them and man you talk about a company that rips people off hardcore. They would sign up for the free 90 day trial we would take their CC information stating they wouldnt be billed anything at all in the 90 days. Then AOL would "make a billing mistake" and charge them insane amounts of money. I mean sometimes in the 1000's of dollars. Then they would try to cancel the service and ask us who to sue for their money back and we would try to sell them a different product such as travelers advantage. If they said no 3 times we would then transfer the call to a "specialist" who worked in the same center as me and he would do the same thing trying to sell them another product. They would be soooo pissed off by now we would put them on hold for a supervisor to help them out and "accidently" forget about them on hold or transfer them to our overseas call centers who would once again try to sell them something. At this point most people hang up. They try to pursue legal action but they never cancelled their service because if they did they would have a cancellation confirmation number so we would keep billing them. Talk about a big scam. I actually felt a little guilty at the end of the day for some people like older folks on fixed incomes(which is saying something if you know me in person I have almost no conscience). Our call center was the main one for doing things like this. It went out of business July 16 2004 after almost 10 years of business. Now the center is located overseas in Jamaica contracted out to a 3rd party telemarketing company. I work for the new company which also bought the old building and we do DirecTV now. Much more respectable company. We dont do cons on people like AOL did. Granted there still is alot of silver tongued salesmen on the floors that do trick people into getting services that they dont want for the most sales award(like a $10 Wal-Mart gift certificate) but if the person calls customer support to cancel we do without trying to sell them any crap they dont want or runnning them in circles or bogus billing them. Much better job even though I make less money. Also this center doesnt offer commision(AOL offered high commision $5 a "free 90 day trial" so theres no sales reps pushing the hell out of people till they are fuming then transfering them to me.Thats my rant on AOL and scammers.
