Just like your other posts, you ask virtually same question and posted on cdfreaks also. Read reviews and make your decision on your own. Everyone has different opinion such that it will only confuse you more.

I'm not sure which one I would get. I'm not sure if the cdrinfo review of the Pioneer 108d was accurate of drives being sold at stores. I have read where a person got better results than they did. I haven't seen any proof though. I have just read what he said.

The 1620 is a great drive for +R. I have no idea about -R support.

I would wait for more reviews.

I wish Ian had a review of the 1620 and the Pioneer 108d. I like his reviews the best. I trust his. I think he does the best reviews.

Maybe Ian will get a Pioner 108d drive soon. I'm not sure if he has a Benq 1620 yet.

Maybe cdfreaks will have a review of the two drives soon.

A new firmware came out for the Pioneer 108d and I would like to see results from it.

Same question again and again, you're not buying a car dude, it's just a $100 DVD writer, just pick one and start burning DVDs...

Why are you guys not trying to help him? It's a legitimate question.

I would love to see some kprobe scans of the Pioneer 108d, but I can't find any except for the cdrinfo review.

I want to see some kprobe scans from a drive bought from a store. Their drive may not have been as good. Also, a new firmware is out. Does anyone know where I can see some kprobe, cdspeed disc quality, or dvdinfopro quality disc test from the Pioneer 108d?

I haven't even seen the Benq 1620 for sell yet. I haven't seen any reviews of one either. So, since there really haven't been any reviews, I say it's a good question.

Dolphin,

oh, behave

Artec

part of the problem is that if there haven't been any reviews yet, most people probably don't have the answers he seeks :o

That's true, but the Pioneer 108d has been for sell for awhile now. I thought some users would have done some tests by now.

All I see are tests done with Lite On drives.

The Pioneer forum at cdfreaks isn't very busy like the Lite on and Nec forum there.

There really isn't a great place to get tests from a Pioneer 108d.

I haven't seen the Benq 1620 for sell, but I have seen scans from a friend of mine who has the Benq 1600. It does good with +R media. The 1600 doesn't have -R support yet, so it's not known how good it will be.

Cdrlabs needs a forum just dedicated for people to post their kprobe, cdspeed, plextor protools, or dvdinfo pro disc quality tests. Don't you agree?

I would like to see some tests.

Because, he asks the same thing over and over.. the only thing that changes is the drives he lists. We have no idea what his needs are or his budget.

We have enough "which one" threads. I'm locking this.
