where can i find a cheap dvd rw for my cheap a** brother?

Postby liteonrules on Thu Aug 19, 2004 3:47 pm

my brother wants to spend less than $60.00
the only two i found in 8x range is NU TECH 081 AND LITE ON 811S on pricewatch.com
U all know how i feel about LITE ON 811S but i heard NU TECH 081 is even worse. i like to smack the sh*t out of my brother and make him spend more but he won't.
where can i find a dvd burner in that cheap price range and what brand/name? thank you so much
i can find the NU TECH 081 for $54.00 but is it worth it

@liteonrules, weren't you just trying to get rid of one of your two burners?

You can get a DW822A for $70 just check pricewatch.com or pricegrabber.com, then sell him your 800A for $60 and you keep the 822A for $10 more. That's how I do my relatives cheap a*s deals.

Depending on what you think of your brother, you might want to consider the deal Office Max has right now: you buy a copy of Quicken 2005 and they'll sell you a Khypermedia 8x DVD+R burner that is FREE after rebate. Of course, you'd have to want a new copy of Quicken for this to make any sense.

Give your brother advice, if he doesn't take it, let him make his own way. If he's cheap, that's his problem, let him learn by it if he ends up with a crappy drive.

That said, if I were in your place, I'd consider it a golden opportunity to sell my NEC 2500A and buy a 3500A for not much more. :D
