Sonic Simple Backup

Postby wundrlch on Tue Aug 24, 2004 10:05 am

I have my entire system backed up on 2 dvds. I have a virus on my computer which I have tried to get rid of but I can't. So I tried to restore my entire system which worked great except after about 20 minutes the virus came back. So now I want to delelte everything and start all over. How do I wipe my entire memory and still be able to use Sonic to restore everything?

wundrlch: As long as you retain the discs and reinstall Simple Backup it'll work. Do NOT change your username on the new computer though, make sure it is identical... or you'll run into some problems.
Thanks, and have a great day!

wundrlch: No, you have to get Windows back up and running and reinstall Simple Backup, then launch the restore from there. If the virus is on your backup, you're going to run into problems. Install virus scanning utilities prior to restoring.
Thanks, and have a great day!
