New SATA DVD-Rom + CD-RW

whatcha guys thing of this one?

anyone see anybody selling this drive?

im curious on the costs and if its just another simple SATA bridge like the 712SA

where did you get yours from and how much was it?

and what is that connector that is right to the left of the SATA connector?

also what is the ripping speed for pressed dvds?

Ian, can you try the drive on a non Intel SATA chipeset as well? I knwo MSI claims it only works on Intel based, but it would be interesting to test that statement.

Promise controllers won't work with optical drives, but Silicon Image should.

Yeah, I'll try it on my VIA board. Right now I'm having problems setting the region. It won't stick/set.

this new drive is capable of doing P1/P0 scans

just got mine today from amazon, lovin this new SATA CD-RW/DVD-Rom drive

No, they sent me the 1.30 firmware and it wouldn't update either. I think the drive is fubared.
