DVD Backup "jittery"

Postby aisusa on Sun Sep 05, 2004 4:35 am

I have a Pioneer 108, 2ghz amd, 1 gig ram, blah blah...

I have tried to backup 3 different DVDs and all 3 have ended up not working. They start ok but then get gittery and skip/stick. I am using DVD Shrink and Newest Nero w/ Memorex +r DVDs.

I have upgrade my firmware already. Suggestions?

Soundsl like you are over-compressing the video, but poor burn quality is not out of the question either. What level of compression are these movies shrunk to?

Two movies was at 100% on the slide bar. So I don't think they were compressed. The other was at 96%

Thewn you've either got a very low-quality burn, or your player just doesn't like the media.

In DVDShrink make an ISO file and burn with DVDDecrypter, but I also think it's your media/DVD player.
Go to www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers and see what works with your player.

Try different media. The symptoms you're describing are classic 'bad media' symptoms, and Memorex is kind of the definition of 'bad media' anymore. ;)

Well, it was the media. Thanks everyone for the help.
