Any Verdict on A111 for 4120b

Just wondering if people have found this to be a good firmware upgrade...came out 3 wks ago.

I never changed from A104...thinking about it now as I have some 8x Memorex -Rs that are not seen as 8x by nero

this firmware ok?

flashed a new A104 drive to A111 RPC1.

burned a few Mitsubishi Sonic Azo discs at 40x and wrote 1 panasonic dvdram.

no dvd R discs to try out at the moment.

rpc1?

I am refering to the firware from LG's web page....

Only reason is that I got some Memorex 8x dvd-rs for free...Nero will not let me burn at 8x....tried burn at 4x but makes dvds that stutter...never had this happen before on either my old 4040b or the new 4120b

Other -r's that I have are fine....4x burn perfectly (i.e. maxcel 4x, memorex 4x, verbtim 4x, all ok)

A111 works flawless for me. It also stopped making crappy backups with my cheap ass 4x DVD-R ritek :)

thanks....I'll give it a go then....I have just never had the problem of Nero or copy to DVD not "seeing" the media properly.

Been burning DVD since May 2003 (whenever the 4040b came out) and this was my first official coaster...only part worked.
