Booktype setting possible with NEC 3500A?

I would like to know if it is possible to set the booktype with a NEC 3500A drive using only official firmware, and if so, could you please tell me in which media type does it work?

With official 3500A firmware, the only media that has its book type set is DVD+R DL. And then, its automatic. You can't turn it on or off.
