DVD To avi, mpeg

Postby VN Souljah on Fri Nov 12, 2004 5:13 pm

Hi,
I wonder which software is the best to encode dvd to avi or mpeg ???
I have tried many but those are to many bugs in it.
Why do I lose so much quality when encoding?, I just want to edit one thing and then encode it back to dvd.
Any recommends???

transcoding to MPEG4

Postby budwhite on Sat Nov 13, 2004 11:50 am

I use DVD Shrink to copy the disc to my harddrive, then a program called DVDx 2.3 to transcode to XVID. It's a little work finding all the software like the CODECs but not too bad. Also I use Vidomi to do some jobs. Best of all try out doom9.net for transcoding guides and links to other(harder to use) software.

good luck!

Just use DVDShrink(re-author ->Start/End) to edit then save each clip in it's own folder, then use re-author to combine clips.
Fast, easy, free and best of all no loss in quality.
