Panasonic DVD player wont read burns from LG4120B.

Postby TheAvatar on Wed Nov 17, 2004 4:06 pm

Hello everyone,

New to this form and like to start off by saying hello to all the masses.

Now on to my issue :)

I've been trying to get my backup DVDs to work on my Home Panasonic DVD player (about 3yrs old) I been using DVD decripter and Nero 6.X to burn my images made in an *.img format. All have not worked on my home player. However, I've tested on 2 APex DVD players and all copies have worked. Mind you I've not seen any Apex players not play something.

Info:

Media tested ... Mexell DVD-/+R, Vakoss -R

LG 4120B Firmware 111
WinXp.

Thank for the help.

I know Panasonic only play -R or DVD-ROM booktype, you might try another media brand.

Yep, they only support minus and ram but my e80h panny recorder will do pls just fine IF I set it to dvd rom booktype, otherwise no playback.

This is the main reason that I sold my E80H. Panasonic finally corrected this on the E100, E85, E95, and E500 models.

My buddy has a RV-31 which when he first bought it would play -R & +R however with time it stopped playing -R and now will only play +R recorded with DVD-ROM book type. Apparently this is not unheard of behaviour for this model. Get yourself a nice Yamaha which can be made region free using the remote and which also converts Pal to NTSC on the fly. I have 2 of them along with a DVI LG which can do the same except the region free hack has to be done with a CD.
