GSA-4120B DVD Writer. Help!

Postby fjacky on Fri Nov 19, 2004 2:38 pm

I have purchased an LG GSA-4120B DVD Writer. I have it installed, but it won't read any of my DVD- media disks. Is there any driver or special software that I need to make this work? I am running XP. I have an older slower DVD Writer and it works fine.

Thanks in advance.

Hello fellow LG 4120B user...

When you say it wont read any DVD-Media, do you mean burt DVDs or DVD in general.

What about CDr media, will it read that ?

Is the drive connected to a add on controler ala promise PCI card ?

Is the driver set correctly for the IDE conenction ? I.E Primary, Sec..

What Motherboard / Chipset ... VIA, Intel, Nvidia ?

Also keep in mind the newest firmware is v111.

go to the LG webpage for your area and goto support to get the latest firmware...

If you are unsure on how to flash the bios, I suggest you contact support.

I bad flash can result in driver failer.
