Question Concerning the Reliability of Rewritable DVD'rs

Well, very simply, are rewritable DVD's as unreliable as CDRW's? I have never discovered the reason for CDRW's being so prone to data corruption; and am hopnig that whatever causes it does not also operate on DVD-RW's. I am sure that there are people here with useful opinions.

Unfortunately, I have found DVD +RW and DVD -Rw to be just as bad if not worse than CD-RW. The technology is an excellent idea but has never been perfected. I suspect that this is due to the low price of writable disks and the fact that most people will just use them instead.

I think that DVD-RAM is probably the best for Re-Writable media... but still I wouldn't trust it for long term storage.
