How do I transfer AVI movie from PC to Panasonic(standalone)

Postby asdzxc on Thu Nov 25, 2004 9:27 am

Q: How do I transfer AVI/MPEG movies from PC to Panasonic E55(standalone) with "DVD-RAM" ?

Hi all,

I have a Panasonic E55(standalone) DVD Recorder & a LG DVD Recorder on my PC.

I wanted to know how do I record an AVI/MPG movie from my PC on to a DVD-RAM disk so it will play in my Panasonic E55(standalone) ?
(ie. what format, program etc..)

And, how do I transfer a movie recorded from the TV on my Panasonic E55(standalone) to play in my PC in AVI/MPG format ?
(ie. what format, program etc..)

thanks for any help provided

BTW: was not sure which section of forum to post this....

Why does it have to be a DVD-RAM disc?

How about a DVD-RW disc?

http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm has several options for you to explore.

For avi>TV set: make it a DVD-ROM (you're actually authoring a DVD). I use NeroVision Express for that. You can even set up your own chapters etc. that way. Just burn it to DVD-RW so you can erase it if you screw it up.

As for watching it on the computer: Nero showtime or Windows Media Player Classic can handle anything you throw at them.

Because the Panasonic E55(standalone) DVD Recorder only Records & Plays DVD-R & DVD-RAM

thanks for the prompt reply.

Sorry about confusing you.

I meant going from the computer TO the standalone unit. Use the RW disc for that. Going TO the computer from the standalone recorder, I can see the RAM disc requirement.

Surely it will play a DVD-RW or even a DVD - or + R.
