Postby dolphinius_rex on Thu Dec 16, 2004 4:28 pm

From MAM-A:

Regarding Gold DVD-R's, we have already made a test run at our factory in Colorado and it looks very promising.
I should have more information in January.

If anyone really cares....

Hmm this is more complex as you might think.
WE are talking about dvd recordables with golden reflective layer. MPO only uses a gold reflective layer. But still a purple/blue dye. (AZO/CYANINE ?)
If they say gold/golden dye they can mean Pthalocyanine based dye's because the industry sometimes calls them like that.
Now doe this mean that the new media again doesn't have a non blue/purple bottom like the old MAM/MITSUI Japan 2x media did ?.
Hmm I have my doubts. If they succeeded in launching a new pthalocyanine based dye for higher speeds.
So let's see what they come up with if they come up with something.
