Problem with system recognizing external DVD drive

Postby ruderacer on Sun Dec 19, 2004 1:59 pm

All was working OK till last night, when I got a lot bings from my system. Did not think much, so I rebooted and all seemed fine, but a few minutes ago I tried to use the drive and I get no response. I trouble shooted the system, disconnect the drive (USB), reinstall, checked device manager, etc. I'm getting an error message 'CODE 10'. I connected it to another USB slot and nothing. I have a USB 6 in 1 card reader and no problems. Any suggestions? Did the drive die?

Resolved! I unplugged the power and replugged and all is fine. I don't know why this happened, but in any case problem gone.
