Well, DVD-RAM *IS* big in Japan....

still, I wouldn't be too surprised if it was a Maxell OEM even.

My friend at Maxell *also* thinks it's a Maxell OEM :P

But he's going to try to find out for me.

Yeah, he's kinda weird that way. He seems to be very good at knowing and finding out what OEM's Maxell has done for people.... but he never seems to know when someone else has done an OEM for Maxell :o

Maybe it's selective hearing?

No it's maxell companies policy.
Actually really this is the case.
But you will only here that one if you talked to some people who are at the other side of the line.

Hrm, then they just broke policy for me

Maxell has *JUST* admitted what I already knew about their 16x DVD+Rs

First DVD +R 16X was made by CMC for Philips and bought by Maxell.

We will have our own Japanese product second quarter of this year.

So they *DO* know it's made by CMC... I knew it was, but I didn't know how many of their actual reps knew that as well. Supposedly it's bought directly from Philips, so the quality should be at least ok. And we also have the real Japanese stuff to look forward to sometime in late second or possibly third quarter (given Maxell's regular speed on these things!).

Well it's more like we say it as long as someone says actually something else.
About PHilips. They can get this media through:
A Philips
B CMC
C Fuji.
All can sell each other products it's seems. However Fuji manufactured Philips code disc's are a Fuji exclusive (These are made in Germany)
Hmm for Maxell they probally would buy through philips since Fuji and Maxell America don't get a long like you allready suggested earlier.

About the quality. Ehh I wouldn't make that claime. Keep your eyes on the mailbox.
