This whole article shows why the term "Military Intelligence" is an oxymoron.

This is real - it is no joke. As with any new physiological based methodology, it has been in the test phase for many years to measure, study and test its effectiveness. The results of these tests show the feasibility of using these mind altering chemicals as very promising. The tests were carried out at many of the penal (double meaning intended) across the nation. Why do you think that their has been so much homosexual activity in prisons in the last number of years? The inmates are invited to participate in the testing in exchange for early release. They will be released to halfway houses next door to you with a three month supply of the chemical.

Wasn't LSD (aka: ACID) designed for a similar purpose back in the early 1950's?

I'd heard several stories about its origins, but I'm not positive on them.

I thought it was to be placed into the water supply a day or two before ground troops arrived.

It was determined to be useless as a weapon when some people turned into Berzerks. Much like the Viking Raiders were (Vikings used mushrooms btw).

Dunno about the LSD in H2O thing, I wasn't alive during the 50's. :P All I know is that some US water supplies have fluoride added, but that isn't an hallucinogenic drug. I wonder what our neighbors to the north add to their water. What do ya say, Spaz, substitute a little wobbly pop instead of water? :D

Between acid in the water and Vikings eating mushrooms, it just makes me wonder what on earth kamikaze pilots inhaled prior to their missions. I, for one, would need to be seriously doped up to purposely fly a plane to my death.
No, I like women.

Kamikaze pilots were highly skilled and trained people, who were not supposed to fly to their death "by design", but the general opinion of many Japanese airforce pilots was that if they used up too much fuel to be able to make it back to base, then it was a more honourable death to crash their plane in favour of the mission, then die crashing into the water on the way back. Actually, many Kamikaze pilots returned back after missions just fine.

Ever hear of Walkerton, Ontario?

Don't drill a town well anywhere near a cattle pasture.

As for the ACID theory, it was from HERE.. Actually invented in Switzerland in 1938, it was far better for headaches than herbal teas.

Then the O.S.S. heard about it...so did Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters...

This was true in the early war. In the end, the Japanese military (driven by desparation) actually designed a few types of planes for one purpose, however: to be used as kamikaze planes. They were designed for quick and unskilled assembly, to be made of inexpensive crude materials such as wood, and shed their wheels right after takeoff so they could be used again with the next planes. The primary design of the plane was to make something that could carry a heavy bomb load and make it to the target without costing much. The planes carried no two-way radios, but rather a crude squawk button that could broadcat to their base that they were beginning their dive, and in some cases, receive patriotic music broadcast from their homeland. No offensive armament was carried, so they were easy meat for ships with aircraft cover.
They also designed a high-speed piloted rocket with an explosive warhead in the nose that would detonate on contact with a ship. The Japanese named it Ohka (cherry blossom); the Americans called it Baka (Japanese word for fool).
