What up with this drive? Any info guys?

Specifications:
Write Speed: 5x DL DVD+R, 16X DVD+R, 4X DVD+RW, 12X DVD-R, 4X DVD-RW, 48X CD-R, 24X CD-RW
Read Speed: 48X CD-ROM, 16X DVD-ROM

It didn't do well in the latest c't test - in fact it had the poorest quality of all drives tested (firmware TU31).

Thanks for the info.

At one point I was considering possibly buying this drive due to 5X D/L burn speeds, but fortunately a nice deal came along on the NEC ND-3500A and since DL media was still pricey, I didn't worry about the difference in DL write speed.

Probably the reason why Toshiba hasn't sent them out to reviewers. :x
