Phillip DVD+RW $14 for $25 at Microcenter

Anyone have experience with this media? I was walking through Microcenter and had to pick up a spindle for my older drive at this price. It is only 1x - 2.4x

I am going to use it for archiving data. Reads as Philips - 041

I always did suspect Microcenter was a bit of a rip-off, and now I know for sure....

A little late I know, but I finally got around to using a few of these.

I used the discs in my old DRU-500a and they worked great! I have been able to read them in a number of computer drives which was my primary goal.

Not sure I would go buy a 100, but for misc., throw down +RW they seem good.

I don't even have a use for 25 RWs.... maybe 5pcs for personal use, but that's IT.

If they are cheap enough I have found that +RW or -RW are more compatible with various set top players. Not sure why but they always work even in the relatives worst players.

The real reason is for backups and archives. I have access to lots of streaming tape media, but if I want to really protect what I am working on optical is the way to go. When you have a couple of hundred computers hanging around you can find some uses. Probably not for the average person.
