The website pictures 2X media. Sometimes they don't always update the websites when the faster media arrives, but the reviews seem to indicate it really is 2X media they are shipping.

The reason they don't change their pictures is because companies like Maxell, TDK and Memorex don't change their part numbers for the discs when the speed changes. So if you're a company ordering TDK branded DVD-Rs in a 15pc spindle, you might start by receiving 2x media, but ordering 6 months later, the exact same item on paper, you might receive 4x media, and then another 6 months later, you might receive 8x or even 16x media in the spindle. But all your paperwork remains the same, and all the barcodes on the products are the same, and if you are a big-wig sitting in an office miles away from the retail outlet of warehouse, you have no idea anything has changed.

so if you buy 9 spindles for a total of $27 USD you get free shipping as well :D

at $0.20 USD a disc, it's probably 4x media... but if it's 8x then SCORE :wink:

Did anyone buy any? They were still shipping 2X as late as May of 2004 according to the reviews. Wonder what they are shipping now? It is OOS at the stores near me too, but in stock for web purchases.

went to Circuit City in long Beach, CA and was told they still do not have this item in stock, I talked to the store manager and ask a substitute and he gave me 4 package of 25 DVD+R (TDK8X) for the same price $.20(20 Cents)/Disc, total of 100 for $20. They are CMC E01 and will burn with my NEC 3500 at 12X speed.

Hi Slim;

Ye I saw the store manager with bunch of white roll of tape at that time. This small world isn’t. BTW I was with two colleagues of mine in Charlie Brown last Thursday.
