The Lincoln Fry selling for $250,000:

That one was stupid, but the bids on the fry are funny. I also kinda liked that Ford convertible one.

FedEx Kinkos commercial is an A+. Godaddy commercial was great.

I didn't like the Godaddy one. I thought it was pretty tasteless. That one Bud Light commercial, with the guy taking a picture of himself drinking his buddy's beer with his buddy's girlfriend was funny.

Anyone else think that was one of the most boring half time shows ever? I understand they don't want another fiasco like last year, but I almost fell asleep while that geriatric was on stage.

The half time show was predictably boring. I can only assume Aviationwiz has NEVER seen a half time show of any sort, let alone the super bowl variety. The godaddy commercial was neither witty, nor well produced, nor well acted. It was effective because now we are talking about it. All in all, I didn't think there was a real SUPER BOWL commercial there. They all seemed really kind of regular.

What is to like? He had a couple OK songs with Wings. And after that "Freedom" song atrocity after 9-11, I cannot believe he was as much of a positive creative force for the Beatles as drugs and Lennon were. He's just not interesting nor is he a terribly great performer. God, so many people are awesome live. The Stones, Kris Parker, Metallica, Counting Crows, Rage Against the Machine, Sting, and I could go on about some great performances. Paul isn't one of them.

I think JamieW would have liked to have seen Michael Jackson up there.

All kidding aside, Michael Jackson really was one of the great performers of our time. I do kind of regret having never gotten to see him. Boy George, while an entertaining figure, I don't believe qualifies as a great performer or entertainer.

i agree.
while they may appear old-fashioned and ridiculous today, Jackson's videos were very cool at the time.
Billy-Jean was great. Thriller was awesome.

Yes, Michael WAS a great performer before he got all weird and started hanging out with a monkey and got plastic surgery, making him whiter than me. He's a freak.. plain and simple. More of a freak than Boy George these days.

Complete freak. 100% freak. But still a great performer. The Billy Jean video and Thriller were revolutionary.

But I think MJ isn't as out there freaky as people might think. I think he's just a freak with an assload of money who therefore actually can pay for what his freaky mind thinks of.

I liked the godaddy one ok but this year there wasn't much to howl at.

The best thing was the 'War of the Worlds' ad.

I still got mpg's somewhere of 2-3 from last year. I got the gal getting blow torched by the horse lifting it's tail and the one of the chimp trying to get his human's girlfriend to go upstairs.

Half time was boring.

Don't forget about U2.
They are still cranking out great songs and winning awards after more than 23 years out there!!
Saw them in concert twice - once bruce Springsteen was a surprise guest (90,000 of us in PA - JFK stadium 1987, as part of the Joshua Tree tour) and played one song on guitar.
The other time was at Yankees stadium in the 90s; must have been the Achtung Baby tour.

I even admit to liking Duran Duran's new song (was working from home
and caught them on TV performing on the Tony Danza show); it was one from the Astronaut album.
It grew on me about one third of the way into the song.

Oh back to the topic at hand:
I liked the Diet Pepsi truck commercial.
Ford Mustang ad was decent and got its point across.
Missed a lot of commercials since I was busy installing something which I thought would take a few minutes and got distracted when things weren't going so well...
