Pioneer A09XL firmware update problem

Postby Peter11111 on Wed Mar 02, 2005 6:01 am

I have just bought a Pioneer DVR-A09XLA, and have attempted to update the firmwawre, but have failed.
As it stands brand new it is at firmware version 1.13 according to pioneer's utility on the American website, and have attempted to update to version 1.17. But when I run the program, I get a:
"Current Revision >> Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-109 1.13 05/01/29
Current Signature = PIO_ADV
Disc is in serted into DVD-RW
Please eject a disc
0drive(s) have been updated successfully"

Currently it is connected with a 80-wire IDE cable to master, I also have a CD Burner connected as slave.

Does anybody have any ideas.

There's no disc in the drive and it's telling you to eject a disc? That is quite odd...

Are you sure you're using the right firmware? Make sure you have the firmware for the A09 and not the 109.

I had exactly the same problem with my Pioneer A07XLA. I ended up getting the Gradius flash from Gradius.org and I REALLY like it. I can burn anything with great results...
