DivxToDVD

Postby claire on Wed Mar 02, 2005 10:17 am

Hi,

I have been using CopytoDVD for a long time now to burn my music and data.

The same company, VSO Software, has come out with, for quite some time now, a free piece of software to convert Divx movies to a DVD format. Not suprisingly the software is called DivxToDVD.

Anyway I find it totally easy to use and haven't had any quality problems yet either!

Since when is posting about a new, usefull utility spamming? Besides, I doubt VSO would spam anymore than Ahead would. That said, I can see how it could be considered spam, what with the only two posts, but still, it's CD/DVD releated, so...

Anyway, the software is free for now. It's still in beta, and may not always be free. I have it, but haven't used it yet (stuck with a slow POS pc at the moment), but it looks very promising. I like the auto-insert of chapter breaks...

So, claire, how fast is it on your pc? Let us know you system specs, too, please.

both of which mentioned the same "new" product...

If you have genuine experience with this product, please do share it with us.

Hi,

I did not intend to cause an outrage, I simply thought I share the news on a good piece of free software.

My Specs---Microsoft Win XP version 2002, Sony VAIO Serie PCG-GRX
mobile intel (R) Pentium(R), 4-M CPU 2.00GH2, 1.99GHz, 512 Mode RAM

For an Avi file size 700 Mo (734 916 608 octets) DivxToDVD took 1hr30minutes to convert.

I had a problem with the program. When I burned a DVD and went to play it, it said it was out of the area. I then encoded it with Super Encoder and it worked fine. Maybe I didn't have it set up right, because of no manual or help. I had the two options set up as auto.

Thanks Bob H.

it's now called ConvertXtoDVD (formerly DivxToDVD)
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd

Looking for free video converter software? ConvertXtoDVD is free video converter evaluation software - a small payment and you no longer have the vso watermark on the video output.

did the old DivxToDVD also leave a watermark?

anyway, 34.99 € / $ is not a "small payment" IMO.
