these disks are even cheaper now

Postby liteonrules on Tue Feb 15, 2005 2:54 pm

it's cheaper $35.99 minus GEEK8OFF coupon= $27.99 for 200 discs. my buddy and i will split the costs, so $14.00 per 100pack is awesome
media code is VDSPMSAB 01. but my burner has burned this type of code w/no problem.
i get all this information from slickdeals about the store, discs and media code.

i agree to a point

Postby liteonrules on Tue Feb 15, 2005 6:50 pm

these are not great discs but my family expects free discs all the time and i have never had problems using these discs, my nec 2500a burns these very well. no coasters no freezing
if you can find dvd blank disc for 14 cents a piece w/out rebates or clearances, please let me know i would really appreciate it. i know dolphinius_rex that you are the king of all blank media and u know best but are you the king of good deals too.
what i mean by "clearance" is that when stores have their old stock on clearance just to get rid of it to make room for new stock and the chances are that when you get there, they don't have anything left.

Not necessarily.

That media code is Interaxia, an equipment manufacturer, so the discs could be made by anyone.

Most of them are sh*t, but there are a few very small European manufacturers using this code and some of those discs are pretty good.

Well, initial playability does not say everything about a disc. On the other hand, if it does work for even a short period of time, it will have at least SOME applications.

As for pricing, it's not the best I've seen  But I can only do the "deal game" with Canadian stuff :D

Yi Jhan? Eurgh.

Absolutely horrid media. I can usually find a use for most discs, but I make an exception in this case. Those discs are CRAP.

You'll find PI error rates of around 5-700 normal on this media.

I've never used any of it myself, so I can't comment from my own experience. However, I've never heard anyone raving about the quality of the media... and I *HAVE* heard complaints about it (not just the one above either :P).

I totally know what you mean about the whole "free for family" thing. People in my family expect me to do things for them for free all the time. Never once considering helping out with the cost of quality media, or wondering how much time and effort goes into their little requests. This particularily bugs me when I'm very busy (which is pretty much all the time).

Yi Jhan

Postby liteonrules on Thu Mar 03, 2005 4:52 pm

my NEC 2500A burns it fine at 4x and 6x but not all of my dvd players will play them. the error rates are rather high but does not a skip on my two dvd players that will play them. 2 out of 50 so far were coasters.
i really don't recommend them.
