But, but...

It has only been a week since last release! Have you seen any manufacturer releasing a new firmware version on a weekly basis? I haven't. Bought PX-716UF with 1.04 in there, that very evening 1.05 comes out, and now 1.06. 716 is their flagship that's for sure.

We'll see. For now things seem to have improved although there isn't any garantirs or certains that dvdd write quality has changed from 1.05 to 1.06.

For a while, the BenQ DW1620 was getting weekly firmware updates... but it deffinately appears that Plextor is pushing to remove the "lemon" label that most of their drives have carried since they moved to DVD.
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

Plextor europe has promised that they will really do there best to keep improve the quality and didn't think they were behind the competition.
Truth is if you take a look at the complete market then the fact is there right. That is if you take the whole market and all points.
If you look at the more ussefull points and carefully look at PX-716 vs some populair drives then the conclusion is still why does the px-716 cost double ?
Maybe because they used a special ultra expensive paint for the plextor logo ? :lol:
